Next SAT Test Going Ahead as Planned

The next SAT test is going ahead as planned on August 28th, 2021. The regular deadline to register is July 30th and the late deadline is August 17th. [reference]

Singapore Returns to In-Person Learning for Its New School Term

The beginning of Term 3 in Singapore has seen students at all levels return to in-person learning. At the same time, the Ministry of Education’s Home-Based Learning programs are being phased out to encourage all students to return to school. [reference]

Canada: In-person Summer Schooling Available in Ontario

As of August 3, 2021, publicly funded and private schools in Ontario can offer in-person learning for summer school, in addition to remote learning courses. [reference]

France: New Measures Against Delta Variant

On Monday, July 12th, the President of the Republic announced new measures to try to fight against the new Delta variant, one of them being establishing vaccination campaigns for students in colleges and lycées as soon as the new academic year starts in September. Other measures include mandating the requirement of a COVID passport to enter large events. Starting in October, PCR tests will no longer be free to the public. [reference]

United Arab Emirates: Students Above 12 Will Require Proof of Vaccination

Schools are currently closed for the summer holidays, but students above 12 will require proof of vaccination in order to return to school in person at the start of the new academic year. The UAE was one of the first countries to make vaccines available to their residents and tourists. Currently, 66% of the population is fully vaccinated. [reference]
